How much will an EPC cost?

This can depend on the size of the property and the location, some Assessors charge more for larger properties and some even add a mileage charge or commission to agents ! Not at Asmw1st !

As a guide, at Ask MW 1st prices start at only £55.00 which includes a full onsite survey and EPC personally delivered to you within 24 hours. We will explain the results and recommendations.
 
How long is an EPC valid for?

Currently the EPC is valid for 10 years and can be used multiple times during this period.

How long will an assessment take?

Again this will depend on the size of the property.
An average 3 bedroom house might take up to one hour.
At Ask MW 1stwe are more concerned about accuracy than speed.
 
You can help by having any relevant documents available regarding
double glazing, boilers or other ‘green’ measures you may have installed in your home.

What properties are exempt from having an EPC?

If you are renting your property and both yourself and tenant have signed
a contract before 30 December 2008

Not selling, not renting, don’t need one.

Places of worship

If you are selling your house with the knowledge that it will be demolished by the purchaser.

Temporary buildings if use does not exceed 2 years.

How do I check if an Assessor is approved,accredited and qualified?

You can visit www.epbniregister.com,enter the details you have which may be a name or accreditation number. You will be able to see all the information you need. Also always ask for identification, assessors should carry formal ID.
